Community Outreach
Monday Community Dinner
Each Monday, a team of cooks meet in the Keever Hall kitchen to prepare a delicious dinner for about 60-75 people in our area in need of food.
Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear
This ministry provides temporary housing for homeless families. On a rotating basis, 13 area churches provide accommodations and meals for 3 to 5 families for one week, four times a year. During the day, the guests either go to work or school or to Family Promise’s Day Center on Fourth Street.
Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard
Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard provides emergency food rations to needy people in our community. We assist through food drives held the second Sunday of the month.
Clothes Closet
Each week we serve 30 to 40 displaced people — men, women and children of all ages — trying to provide them with items they need to get by on the streets. Many have lost jobs during the pandemic, lost everything during a divorce, or are unable to receive disability. Several of our displaced are LGBTQ and their families have disowned them. There are many reasons people are displaced without being “bad” or “deserving” to be this way, and they are grateful for everything St. Paul’s does to help them.
