In 325, a group of people met in a place called Nicaea (present-day Turkey).
This group, this council, came up with a particular description of the relationship between Jesus and God.
This description, this fundamental doctrine, has left an enduring mark on the Christian faith that is proclaimed today.
Since that summer in 325, countless Christians have confessed that Jesus is eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father.
2025 marks the 1700th anniversary of this meeting.
Our Bible Study will be a quick history lesson, but I hope we can have some fun and maybe accidentally learn a thing or two that will increase our faith and our sense of “Koinonia” (κοινωνία) — Christian fellowship.
