The Firelight
Sunday School curriculum is designed to provide unique learning
experiences for children. For a scheduled number of Sundays, the
children will learn one Bible story in a variety of ways through
rotation to different workshops each Sunday. By the end of summer, St.
Paul’s will have five workshops for the Sunday School.
The workshops are:
“Storytelling Tent” - the feature Bible story is presented
through storytelling and drama;
“Creation Station” - an arts and crafts experience featuring
the Bible story; |
|
“Kingdom Games” - play
activities which reinforce the Bible
story;
“Banquet Hall” - a kitchen/science lab that
focuses on the Bible
story;
“Sunday Cinema” - movies which emphasize the
Bible story.
This curriculum also provides opportunities for more adults to become
involved with Sunday School for a shorter period of time. One
teacher/shepherd will work in a workshop for a few weeks and when the
story changes, the teacher/shepherd can change as well. However, if the
teacher/shepherd wants to continue in the workshop with the new Bible
story, they sure can! Other opportunities for adult involvement include
guest speakers, actors, leaders to help with each workshop, and so on. |
